Two things that couples should consider if they rent wedding marquees

Here are two important things a couple should consider if they rent a wedding marquee.

The flooring

Not all rental wedding marquees come with flooring, and of those that do, some will have a thin, waterproof groundsheet that may not be firm or cushioned. It's important for a couple who hires a wedding marquee to enquire about what flooring (if any) comes with it and to consider what flooring options would be best if their marquee does not include this feature.

For example, if a couple is going to host their nuptials in a garden and the marquee that they've hired either has no floor or a thin ground cover, then they may need to rent a harder flooring material for the marquee. Doing this would ensure that if some heavy rain softens the garden's soil right before their wedding, they won't need to worry about their guests' shoes sinking into the soil, nor will they have to contend with trying to have their first dance on a squishy, unstable surface.

In contrast, if the climate of the area where they'll be putting up the marquee is very dry and it rarely rains in this location, then it might be safe to make do with the marquee's groundsheet (or to have no floor and simply set up the marquee on bare grass), and doing this might be a good way to keep the cost of this part of their wedding low.

The exact colour of the marquee's fabric

Couples who rent wedding marquees should ask the rental company for a sample swatch of the fabric their marquee is made from so they can see its exact colour in person. This swatch will come in handy when the couple needs to start shopping for décor for their marquee, as they'll be able to compare the swatch to the flowers their florist shows them, the balloons they find in the craft store or the decorative signs they're thinking of buying. This ensures that these items complement the marquee colour.

Knowing the exact colour of the marquee could also be very useful when the couple is selecting their lighting for the marquee's interior. If, for example, they want the cables of string lights on the marquee ceiling to blend in with the marquee fabric so that the ceiling itself looks illuminated and the lights don't look like they've been attached to it, then having a swatch will allow the couple to find string lights whose cables are an exact match for their marquee and thus enable them to create this effect.
